The BIG 5 in social media – rules to follow!

Social media marketing has become an indispensable part of the marketing world. We would even go out on a limb and say that it has become an elementary part of well-functioning marketing strategies.

It is therefore all the more important not to post blindly, but to take certain rules into account and to set up your social media presence professionally. In addition to defining social media channels, your target group and a clearly defined goal, these 5 rules that we have compiled for you will also help.

Rule # 1

Be consistent

Success in social media doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time and consistent activity to build, stabilize and expand your network. Create a social media plan, post regularly, and don’t give up right away if you haven’t seen measurable success after 3 months. The beginning in particular is slow, but your perseverance will pay off, provided you listen and deliver value-added content to your audience (see also Rules 2 and 3).

Rule # 2

Listen

Social media is always also exchange. Any social network is, as the name suggests, a social community that thrives on conversation, shared interests, and togetherness. Successful social media marketing requires you to listen more than you talk. Read posts from your target audience and find out what’s important to them. This will help you create truly relevant content that supports their target audience rather than slaying you unnecessarily with meaningless content.

Rule # 3

Create added value

Social media is not about posting as often as possible that their product is the greatest. But rather to add value to your audience while subtly referencing their product. Tell entertaining stories about problems that – incidentally – your product can solve. Give your audience meaningful content that will move both your audience and you forward. An explainer video offers many opportunities to do this.

Rule # 4

Be authentic

In fact, there’s nothing more damaging than not staying true to yourself on social media. Don’t do things because “everyone” is doing it, but also interact on social media as your existing branding allows. Stay true to yourself – otherwise customers will begin to doubt your credibility and ultimately not believe that you or your product deliver what you promise.

Rule # 5

Measure your activities

Only by measuring and evaluating your social media activities can you get the best possible effect from social media. Evaluating your social media data will help you improve your work. It allows you to experiment with your content because you can see exactly what works and what doesn’t based on the numbers. You can learn and develop from these numbers.

Conclusion

Social media marketing has become – no matter for which – company an important building block in marketing and should not be underestimated in any case. If you haven’t considered it in your marketing to date, start now. For example, how about an explainer video that helps you introduce yourself on your new channel. We would be happy to advise you on this.
